Happy 2017!

Welcome to 2017! I’m so excited for 2016 to be over already. Some hardcore celebrities and childhood hero’s died over the last few months that melted into the holiday season…so…I dunno, not a whole lot I can say that hasn’t already been said.

But as far as feels go. Have you seen Finding Dory? ToT Yes, that’s right. Crying text emoji. Pixar working that magic again, and me crying like a pathetic broken person in front of my husband (whom’s idea it was to rent it from Amazon to begin with). Thanks dude.

And speaking of movies, we also watched The Secret Life of Pets. That’s a fun movie that could have been better if it was pg-13. And then that infamous Rogue One. Oh yes, that movie…that Star Wars movie. THE prequel we all wanted and had to suffer 3 horrifying films, and 3 horrifying remastered upchucked splice edited originals…if you don’t know how I feel about ep. 1-3 and the 90’s edition ep 4-6…NOW YOU DO! Any time I’ve ever seen A New Hope playing on cable tv they neeever play those shitty 90’s releases, so I know I’m not alone in my opinions regarding that…stuff…

In terms of opinions and being opinionated, so…in my grand imagination: Youtube personality Edward Avila saw my post on the AB subreddit about his video intro being too damn loud and his voice audio being suuuper quiet. Since that post his sound engineering has been totally spot on. Even his vlogs out and about with street noise, cars, etc. have improved a ton! It’s always a fun time listening to him chat away at the camera I kind of wonder about his other opinions about life events. Podcast maybe? Podcast definitely. I think it’d be interesting since he’s doing Youtube full-time now. But yea, that’s me thinking about what content I want. I guess I should be the one actually exploring podcasts to find one that I enjoy instead of pushing my expectations on a stranger. =( My bad.

Anyways: the 2016 mega-kal was harder this year than last year. I’m not sure why, but I just found it really difficult to knit at all this year. I’m not sure if it’s because I want to covet my Ireland stash for a little longer, or if patterns this year were just uninspiring….

I don’t think I’m loosing my knitting juju or anything, I just think I need to hammer down on more large projects like sweaters! I have three sweaters and a t-shirt planned for this coming winter knitting. Granted it’s going to be brutal to get 3 sweaters done by April, but I’m going to try! I’m already part way done with the t-shirt (Choose Your Own Adventure T by Allyson Dykhuizen). ¬†Though, I did find a random k2tog in the middle of a row 4″ back, so today was life-lining, ripping back, and attempting to get back to where I was.

The other two sweaters I’m thinking of are the Hoodie Shawl Cardigan by Susanne Sommer¬†and the Edge Hoodie by Veronik Avery. This year has a theme, hooded garments! I also have some hats I want to make this year.

So for the 2017 mega-kal Norichanknits and I have devised a new trimester system. Actually giving away prizes this year too: some patterns, some yarn, all great stuff! The projects them selves all include some awesome indie designers from the area as well as some cute items that have been hanging out in my queue forever. I have a tentative schedule put together for what I want, but..who knows! I may change my mind, hehe…

Sorry this has turned into a wall of text. I’ll be sure to post more often this year as it is one of my resolutions. (As well as private journaling). Yay brain organization!!
